Make ONE enquiry and beforeUdig will notify #Asset Owners of your proposed works. These #Assets Owners will contact you by either supplying plans, booking a time to help you locate the services you need to avoid, or provide valuable advice about your proposed work site.
How does the beforeUdig service work?1. Request Plans: At least 2 working days before commencing any digging activities, you need to request plans for your dig site with beforeUdig.
2. Qualify and Notify #Asset Owners: Once your work site is registered, beforeUdig will determine which registered #Asset Owners (beforeUdig members) have assets located within the intended work site and notify them of the intended works by sending a "Referral" notification. Simultaneously, you (the caller) will be sent a “Confirmation Sheet” - an acknowledgement/record of the enquiry, confirming all the details supplied by you (the caller).
3. Build and send plans: Once the #Asset Owners has received the "Referral" notification, they are requested to respond to the caller within 2 working days. Generally this response takes the form of plans detailing the type and location of underground infrastructure.
However, depending on the complexity and type of assets involved, for instance high pressure gas mains, and the associated risk impact, the #Asset Owner may choose to contact you to further discuss details of the intended works to be carried out.
Additional time should be allowed for information issued by post.
# The information supplied by beforeUdig of Asset Owners who may have underground assets in or around your proposed excavation site may not represent all Asset Owners affected. It is your sole responsibility to ascertain any other Asset Owners in or around your proposed excavation site. The information supplied by beforeUdig is solely to assist you in this process. |
